Y tu mamá también
In Mexico City, two late-teen friends, Tenoch Iturbide and Julio Zapata, are feeling antsy while their girlfriends are traveling in Europe before they all embark on their college journey. During an extravagant family wedding, Tenoch and Julio encounter Luisa Cortés, a woman in her twenties and the wife of Tenoch’s cousin Jano, who have recently relocated to Mexico from Spain. In an attempt to impress the stunning Luisa, they boast about a trip they plan to take to an incredibly beautiful hidden beach in Mexico called la Boca del Cielo, a place that actually does not exist. After realizing Jano’s latest infidelity directly from him, Luisa decides to accept Tenoch and Julio’s invitation to join them on their road trip, forcing them to quickly organize a journey to a fictional beach. They resolve to head towards a spot suggested by their friend Saba, who also seems a bit unclear about where the beach is located. During the road trip, which is not completely peaceful, all three embark on a journey of self-discovery. For Luisa, she must navigate her immediate future in light of the information from Jano and a secret she is harboring. Meanwhile, Tenoch and Julio need to come to terms with what their friendship truly signifies as they transition into adulthood.
